Jaguar Gorget
The Jaguar Gorget is one of Missouri’s most notable artifacts. Excavated from a Late Woodland (A.D. 450 – 900) burial at Fairfield Mound Site in Benton County, MO; it is an engraved shell thought to have been produced several hundred years before it was buried.
